North American newcomer joins LCS roster as Cloud9 reshuffles Challengers for 2023
Cloud9’s League of Legends division recognized enough development potential in the squad despite the team’s 2022 World Championship run being cut short in October to bring back the vast bulk of the team for next year OKBET win.
The organization’s CEO, Jack Etienne, announced the big roster changes in a video and said that the squad got together at the conclusion of the year to talk about how they might better their performance in the next year, 2023.
In this case, “very much every player was delighted with the performance of their teammates,” Etienne remarked. There were definitely areas where we might have done better, but they requested to have the experiment repeated. We only switched lanes once, and that was in the middle.

Dimitri “Diplex” Ponomarev, the team’s new mid laner, most recently competed in the LFL with Team Vitality’s Academy team and will be making his LCS debut with C9. The 19-year-old German, according to Etienne, is an exceptional melee specialist who has wowed the club with his technical prowess and boundless potential.

Former head coach Max Waldo is switching to the role of top lane positional coach, while popular European support turned coach Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre Rodrguez will be back at the helm for C9.
And lastly, C9 is completely revamping its Challenger roster by adding players like Aaron “FakeGod” Lee, Tomio “Tomio” Chan, Lawrence “Lost” Hui, Tristan “Zeyzal” Stidam, and North American newcomer Jang “EMENES” Min-soo. Seong “Reven” Sang-hyeon, formerly an assistant coach, has been promoted to lead the team.
In the new year, C9 will face off against a wide variety of lineups, but with four-fifths of the LCS champions returning, they are favored to do well in the Spring Split.
